Char was put together by the husband and wife team of Brett & Donna Symons. The vision was to create the best quality steak and seafood restaurant on the Sunshine Coast. Their aim was to design a restaurant that would appeal to the lovers of well-prepared quality food and fine wine in an elegant and relaxed environment. Whether it is lunch or dinner, steak and seafood is what we’re all about. But not just any steak and seafood, we use only the choicest cuts of aged grass fed Tasmanian beef as well as some of the highest graded Wagyu and Kobe beef available in Australia today. We are constantly on the search looking for the freshest and best quality produce. All our menus items are made fresh on site and cooked to order, guaranteeing you only the best quality and most flavoursome meals arrive at your table

Over time we have cataloged more than 100 wines into our inventory. While our primary focus is on Australian varietals we have expanded our list to include other new world wines as well as other selections from Europe. To complement our wine list we have arguably one of the largest selection of whiskies from all over the world. From Scottish Highlands to Southern Tasmania our continuing growing list represents some of the best whiskies available today.
